William Eugene “Gene” Burdette, age 54, of Plantation Road, Adairsville, passed away Thursday, January 10, 2019, at Redmond Regional Medical Center, Rome.He was born in Cobb County, GA, August 21, 1964, son of Patricia Johnson Myers and the late Stan Burdette. Mr. Burdette had been an electrician and self-employed subcontractor for thirty years. He had a larger than life personality with a “work hard, play hard” approach to life. He enjoyed spending time with his family and, even in hard times, loved getting a laugh out of those around him. He was preceded in death by his father, Stan Burdette, his stepfather, Ed Myers, and a brother-in-law, Lee Gray.Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Margo Burdette of Adairsville; his mother, Patricia Myers, of Adairsville; three daughters, Holly Burke of Milledgeville, Christina Burdette of Adairsville, and Madison Burdette of Adairsville; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Randy and Gabby Burdette of Adairsville, and Jason Burdette of Adairsville; a brother, Micheal Burdette of Albany; three sisters, Bonnie Gray of Dallas, Becky Moreland of Newnan and Tracy Luna of Tallahassee; a granddaughter, Dakota Burke of Milledgeville; and a grandson, Logan Gene Burdette, who is due in February; nine nieces and nephews also survive.Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 13, 2019, at 3:00 PM from the chapel of Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville, with Rev. Tom Bledsoe, Sr. and Rev.
